Instagram’s recovery system is nearly useless.One of the worst things about being a content creator on Instagram is that if your account gets hacked, it’s almost impossible to recover. Unlike YouTube, Instagram doesn’t prioritize protecting its creators. That’s the harsh truth.

In fact, Instagram hacks are more common than you think. In a major breach in 2017, personal details of six million users were exposed, including high-profile celebrities. More recently, over 50,000 Instagram accounts get hacked every year (that’s about one account hacked every 10 minutes). Given these numbers, strengthening your account’s security is no longer optional.

Hacking is so common on Instagram

I know this because someone recently tried to hack my account. I received multiple login attempt notifications, but thankfully, they couldn’t get in because I had the right security measures in place. That moment made me realize just how real this threat is and how important it is to be prepared.You can complain all you want, but in most cases, once your account is gone, it’s gone. If you’ve spent years building your page, the last thing you want is to wake up one day and find yourself locked out.

So instead of relying on Instagram’s poor recovery system, you need to make your account hacking-proof. Here’s how:1. Turn On Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) the Right WayHow to Enable 2FA on Instagram:Open Instagram and go to your profile.Tap the menu (☰) in the top-right corner.Select “Accounts Centre” > “Password and Security”.Tap “Two-Factor Authentication”.

Here is how you can make your account hacking proof

Choose one or more security methods:WhatsApp — Receive login codes via WhatsApp messages.Authenticator App (Best Option) — Use Google Authenticator or Authy for extra security.Text Message (SMS) — Receive a code via SMS (less secure but still helpful).You can enable all three options at once for added security. This way, if you lose access to one method, you’ll still have alternatives.Follow the on-screen instructions and confirm your choice.Pro Tip: The Authenticator App is the safest method since SMS codes can be intercepted by SIM-swapping attacks.

Using an Authenticator App like Google Authenticator or Authy is the best way to secure your Instagram account. 4. Remove Suspicious Third-Party Apps

Instagram has a built-in Security Checkup feature that helps you review your account’s safety.How to Use Security Checkup:Go to “Accounts Centre” > “Password and Security”.Tap “Security Checkup”.Follow the prompts to review:Recent logins (log out of any unrecognized devices).Your email and phone number (ensure they’re correct).Suspicious activity (check if any settings have been changed).

5. Do a Security Checkup

Your password should be:✅ Long (at least 12–16 characters).✅ Complex (mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols).✅ Unique (never reuse passwords from other account).

6. Use a Strong, Unique Password

Never save your password on Google Chrome on your laptop. If your computer gets compromised, hackers can access your saved credentials.Never download suspicious software on your phone or computer. Some malware can give hackers unauthorized access to your device and steal your credentials.Be cautious with phishing emails. Hackers send fake emails pretending to be Instagram or Meta. Never click on suspicious links in emails that ask for your password or verification codes.

Some Extra Tips

Hacking is way too common, and Instagram’s support system won’t help you recover your account. And without realizing it, many people embrace these self-destructive patterns.But I found better ways to cope — ones that actually heal rather than harm. I hope they help you too.

No One Talks About These Healthy Coping Mechanisms—But They Work

Write a love letter to your future partner or remind yourself of the love you already have in your life. love isn’t just romantic — it exists in friendships, family, and even in the small moments you cherish alone.

IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU’LL BE SINGLE FOREVER…

Don’t chase other people’s validation. Instead, ask yourself why you feel disconnected from yourself. Spend time doing things that make you feel whole — read, paint, take a long walk, or simply sit with your thoughts. Sometimes, the best company is your own.

IF YOU FEEL LONELY…

Don’t numb that feeling with quick distractions like porn. Instead, channel that energy into something real — call a friend, spend time with loved ones, or engage in something that makes you feel valued. Physical closeness is only one part of intimacy. Take a moment alone to breathe and reflect. Once the anger fades, try to see their perspective. Then, communicate with honesty and kindness.

IF YOU’VE FOUGHT WITH YOUR PARTNER…

Don’t fight them. Don’t try to justify everything. Instead, show them respect and ask for the same in return. Tell them: “This is what I’m going to do, whether you believe in it or not, because this is what I truly believe in. Just support my decisions, and if things don’t go the way you anticipated, just be there with me — like a tree, ready to give shade. I will figure it out one way or another. And at least this way, I will never blame you for anything because I would have lived life on my own terms.”

IF YOUR PARENTS DON’T UNDERSTAND YOU…

YOU’RE ALLOWED TO “DEFY” YOUR PARENTS ON THREE THINGS; Your career, who you marry, and how you choose to live your life.These are deeply personal decisions that only you will have to live with every single day. I’m being very careful with my words here — I said defy, not disregard. There’s a difference.

I know it stings. But please don’t take it as proof that you’re not enough. Rejection doesn’t mean something is wrong with you — it just means they weren’t the right person for you. Repeat with me “rejection is protection”. Trust me you will find the right person soon enough.

IF YOUR CRUSH REJECTED YOU…

Stand up for yourself, but don’t let anger push you into regretful actions. Seek help if needed — there’s no shame in asking for support. Many people have been where you are, and you are not alone. I was once bullied too, and I turned to my elder siblings for help. The problem disappeared because I refused to accept abuse for even a second. Know your worth. Don’t tolerate bullying, not even for a day.

IF YOU’RE BEING BULLIED…

It’s okay. Not all friendships are meant to last forever — some people are just chapters in your story, not the whole book. But if you still miss them, reach out. A simple “hey, remember when…” can sometimes bring back what was lost. And if not, cherish the memories and make space for new connections.

IF YOU DRIFTED APART FROM SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS…

Have a heart-to-heart conversation. If expressing yourself feels difficult, write it down and give it to them. Sometimes, words flow more easily on paper. And if they point out something you did wrong, don’t let pride get in the way — apologize. A simple “I’m sorry” can go a long way in healing your bond.

IF YOU HAVE FOUGHT WITH YOUR SIBLINGS…

Ask yourself: is this coming from someone who truly wants me to grow? If yes, listen. If not, let it go. Most of the time, people project their opinions — they rarely speak facts.

Visit the ocean, watch the stars, or take a walk in nature. The world is vast, and your worries are only a small part of it. Perspective can be powerful.

IF YOUR PROBLEMS FEEL TOO BIG…

Don’t look at the entire mountain. Just focus on the next step. One small step at a time is still progress.

IF YOU FEEL OVERWHELMED…

Name them out loud: I feel anxious, and that’s okay. This simple act reduces their power over you.

IF YOU FEEL OVERWHELMED BY EMOTIONS…

Write your worries down in a journal. Seeing them on paper makes them easier to manage.

IF YOU FEEL STRESSED…

Don’t pace around. Instead, practice deep breathing or meditation. Stillness is more powerful than you think.

IF YOU FEEL ANXIOUS…

Go for a run, stretch, or move your body. Physical activity helps release tension in ways words cannot.

IF YOU FEEL FRUSTRATED…

Write down whatever is on your mind. The next morning, those thoughts that felt so heavy in the darkness will seem lighter in the daylight.

IF YOU CAN’T SLEEP…

Start small. Motivation comes from action, not the other way around. Make your bed. Drink water. Stretch. One small step will lead to another.

IF YOU FEEL UNMOTIVATED…

Stop exhausting yourself trying to explain. Write your thoughts down instead. Sometimes, understanding isn’t needed — just self-acceptance.

IF YOU FEEL MISUNDERSTOOD…

Remember: life isn’t a race. Some people find their path early; others take longer. Your timing isn’t wrong — it’s just yours.

Victory Starts as a Thought

In a world where we often seek validation and love from others, self-love is often mistaken as self-indulgence. People easily justify affection for others, but when asked to be affectionate towards themselves, they hesitate as if love can only be outsourced. If love emerges from within it can only be used to fill others' cups. How Dare I try to fill my own cup without feeling like a narcissist? No wonder people keep waiting for someone to rescue them.

For a long time, self-love was a language that was so foreign to me that I could feel a giant language barrier. But with time I realized it had been built into me and all I had to do was return to it. So, there are Seven ways you can love yourself. I.e speak the language of self-love. And I am gonna teach you all those languages.

Learning to love yourself is the beginning of a lifelong romance. And it starts with building yourself a routine.Now you might ask, "Utkarsh, why do we need a routine?" I’d say: because once you establish a routine, you create a set of actions that you no longer resist. Why? Because you’ve practiced them. Over time, they become second nature—you can do them on autopilot.It no longer feels like pushing a boulder up a hill because you’ve been doing it every day. Your brain adapts. You become what you consistently do, not what you did just once. You need to create four types of routines—routines.

1)Build yourself a Routine

Create a morning routine that excites you and makes waking up a pleasure. This routine should focus on nurturing yourself before the world starts pulling you in all kinds of directions. A good morning routine can even prevent you from staying up too late due to unnecessary scrolling or binge-watching.For example, this could involve taking a peaceful walk in nature, like at a park, and doing some yoga.Here’s a great question to guide you:“How can I create peaceful mornings where I feel confident and self-assured about myself?”

a) Morning Routine

Your fitness routine should not only make you physically stronger but also mentally resilient. Discipline, after all, is one of the greatest expressions of self-love.Include regular workouts and meditation practices in your life. Block a specific part of your morning for these activities, so when distractions arise, you’ll clearly know what they’re pulling you away from.I know it can be hard to fit in both meditation and workouts, especially when you're busy, so try alternating between workout days and contemplative practices like meditation.

b) Fitness Routine

Build a customized bedtime routine to unplug, calm your nerves, slow down, and prepare for quality rest. The key is adopting good sleep hygiene:<ul><li>Sleep at the same time every night.</li><li>Avoid taking your phone to bed.</li><li>Stop watching any content after 10 PM.</li><li>Instead, read a book or listen to calming music before sleeping.</li></ul>I know many of you might resist the idea of not taking your phone to bed because of the possibility of urgent messages or calls. However, it significantly disrupts your sleep. Do these steps religiously every night, and your mind and body will thank you.

c) Bedtime Routine

As someone who has suffered from chronic acne, I can confidently say that my skincare routine changed my life.It can be as simple as washing your face daily with a gentle cleanser, followed by a toner and moisturizer. I also use a body lotion to keep my skin healthy and hydrated.This routine has not only protected me from many skin problems but also boosted my confidence. Trust me, nothing can dent your self-esteem like a pimple—I’ve been there. So, please incorporate a skincare routine into your life. If you're suffering from severe acne then don't shy away from seeing a dermatologist.

d) Skincare Routine

Don’t underestimate the power of routines—they are the foundation of the optimal behaviors you want to instill in yourself.Imagine working out, meditating, sleeping well, and waking up early as if it were second nature. How healthy, grounded, and confident would you feel? Routines are the key to that transformation.

People tend to be too hard on themselves while they spend their whole day trying to berate themselves but when they’re called to appreciate their hard work, they find it extremely disingenuous. Doesn’t that speak for the toxic culture we have accepted? Words have power over your subconscious so you better start and end your day with the right ones.

As we get older, we become so obsessed with making money that we start believing anything that can not be capitalized is a waste of time. In this pursuit, we often silence our inner child, which can lead to feelings of emptiness, depression, and, in worst cases, burnout.Ask Yourself:“What is the perfect way I can express my inner child freely, without any judgement from the adult I have become?”And You never know you might get this urge to indulge in your hobbies and start painting even though you might not be great at it. Listening to your inner child is one of the purest forms of self-love.

Once a month, Take some time to write a love letter to yourself. Celebrate your little wins and write about all the things you have learned every month. Tell yourself how proud you are of the person you are becoming while you develop skills for the next phase of your life. Reflect and see what you’re trying to do here. Who you’re trying to become. Are you keeping your promises?Look at your month from a broader perspective and recognize all the little things you’ve accomplished that have added up to something meaningful. This letter is a reminder of your growth, your dedication, and your worth.

As a people pleaser, I had a problem saying no to anyone which ultimately means that I ended up putting everyone’s interest before mine. This made me miserable because it came at the cost of my happiness and well-being. So I had to learn how to say no to people. I used to believe I could only buy myself something valuable once I achieved a certain goal. I thought I didn’t deserve good clothes or accessories until I reached that milestone, which left me constantly postponing my happiness. I was programming myself to believe I wasn’t worthy of treating myself until I “earned” it.But now, I realize that I deserve to feel good right now, not in the future. Each item I buy is a reflection of my worth today, a reminder that I’m worthy of love, care, and happiness, no matter where I am in my journey. Buying something is about honoring who I am, right now.

If you feel drained after spending time with someone, they're likely an energy vampire. If they don’t uplift or recharge you, cut them off without guilt—they won’t change.

Flaky PeopleFlaky people are unreliable and only around for fun. They might seem like friends, but they’re inconsistent and will disappear without explanation. It’s okay to take breaks, but always communicate that with your friends and loved ones. Inconsistent people won’t provide the stability you need.Negative NancyNegative people are constantly unhappy, focusing on what’s wrong with the world, no matter the situation. Their negativity will eventually rub off on you, so it’s best to cut them off before you become cynical too.

Victim-minded people believe life happens to them, not for them. They stay stuck in their circumstances, constantly blaming their past or situations. Avoid them, as their mindset can drag you down with them.

In the end, we realize the real home we are all searching for isn't out there—it’s inside us. It's the space we create within ourselves, where we invite others in without fear or pretenses. It is where we learn to love ourselves, even the broken parts, and find peace in being alone. When we do that, we see we’ve always belonged—not to someone else or some place, but to ourselves.

Dementors are dark creatures that suck all the happiness out of a person, leaving them with only their worst memories, much like how depression can engulf a person, making them feel hopeless and disconnected from positive emotions.Harry’s heightened vulnerability to Dementors is closely tied to his traumatic past, much like how children who experience trauma are more prone to mental health challenges like depression.

1)Dementors was a metaphorical representation of depression

In the story, Dementors force people to relive their worst memories, and Harry's childhood was filled with loss, neglect, and fear, which makes him more affected by their presence than others.This shows how individuals with traumatic pasts may have deeper emotional scars that make them more prone to negative mental health outcomes later in life. This doesn't mean that you will live a miserable life. It just means that you have to make extra effort to become stronger.

So you can repel dementors by using The Patronus Charm by focusing on a positive, happy memory, symbolizes the power of hope, resilience, and positive thinking to counteract depression.The problem for people who experience depression and prolonged suffering is that they often feel like they have no positive or happy memories—at least, that’s what depression makes them believe.
